If you have the patience to pull your hairs out on by one and a good pair of tweezers (in the $20 and up range), tweezing or plucking might be your method of choice. If you’re just looking to do your eyebrows and/or take out a few stray face hairs, you can do this without leaving your bathroom. Of course, you’ll want a high-magnification mirror (which costs $6 to $20, generally) and excellent lighting, so you can see what you’re doing. Compared to other hair removal processes, tweezing is cheap. Of course, there are downsides—it can be painful, isn’t recommended for large areas, can cause in-grown hairs, pitting and/or scarring and some areas can be hard to reach and/or do for yourself. Additionally, this process can be time-consuming and you might find yourself in front of the mirror daily plucking out a few or many hairs (depending on how fast your hair grows). But the biggest problem is the actual shaping of your brows—if you take too much or too little off, you could have eyebrows that don’t match or don’t look right. That’s why many people leave this to the professionals and just tweeze as maintenance. Also, never pluck your nose hairs—it’s very painful and not the recommended process.
