Electric tweezers’ hair removal isn’t recommended or permanent and has way more side effects than ordinary tweezing. An electric current is applied to the hairs though the tweezers, then the tweezer grabs the hair above the skin’s surface and holds on to it from 15 seconds to several minutes. The electricity travels down to the hair and permanently damages the root. If done safely by a trained practitioner, it can be safe and last from two to four weeks. However, there’s no clinical proof electric tweezers can achieve permanent hair removal. Plus, it’s 100 times slower than regular tweezing and it’s very expensive ($0.50 to $2.00 a minute for professional treatment). It also might be necessary to buy conductive gels, humidifiers and other pre or post-treatment products along with the service to increase its effectiveness.
